The NCSTC-2026 will be a one-day conference jointly organized by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs and other Government Departments on 15th January 2026 in Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The conference will focus on key sectors including Defence, Aerospace, Chemicals, Biotechnology, Electronics, Information Technology, Emerging Technologies, and Compliance, with additional emphasis on academia and research.
The thematic sessions will be conducted featuring esteemed speakers from the Government of India, international organizations, and sector-specific experts. These sessions will be followed by panel discussions led by industry specialists and an interactive Question-and-Answer segment to address queries from exporters on matters related to strategic trade controls, policy frameworks, and licensing procedures.
The National Conference on Strategic Trade Controls (NCSTC) 2024, held on January 30 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, attracted over 500 participants and was organized by DGFT and MEA. The event focused on India's regulatory framework for strategic trade controls. It featured three thematic sessions: i) India’s Strategic Trade Control System and Regulatory Compliance, ii) Industry Experience and Compliance, and iii) Intangible Technology Transfers (ITT), Compliance in Academia, and Emerging Technologies. The conference fostered dialogue between government officials, industry leaders, and international delegations on strategic trade and compliance.
The National Conference on Strategic Trade Controls (NCSTC) 2025, held on January 16–17 at Bengaluru, witnessed participation from over 550 delegates from Government, Industry, Academia, Research Institutions, and international organizations. The event was organized by DGFT in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and other Government agencies.
The two-day conference focused on India’s Strategic Trade Control system, including regulatory frameworks governing SCOMET items and international best practices for export controls. Sector-specific thematic sessions were conducted covering Electronics/IT, Biotechnology, Chemicals, Aerospace, and Defence, with discussions on industry compliance, licensing procedures, enforcement mechanisms, and emerging risks in dual-use technologies.
Senior Government officials and international experts from multilateral export control regimes addressed the conference, highlighting India’s growing role in the global non-proliferation architecture. An updated Handbook on India’s Strategic Trade Controls was also released during the event.
The conference enabled comprehensive dialogue between Government stakeholders, industry representatives, and foreign delegations, strengthening collaboration on strategic trade controls and facilitating a better understanding of compliance requirements in high-technology exports.
